Fighting rare cancers is an uphill battle filled with heartbreak. These diseases often carry some of the lowest survival rates, leaving patients and families with limited options and dwindling hope. The lack of early detection and insufficient research make these cancers especially deadly, with survival rates falling far behind those of more common cancers. However, by raising awareness and investing in research, we can pave the way for breakthroughs, offering hope and brighter futures for those affected.
"Our family knows the heartbreak of a rare cancer diagnosis. But with your support, we can fund the research that will give other families hope."
– Jed's Mother, Linda TaxelEvery donation brings us closer to improving rare cancer survival rates, where only 30% of patients survive beyond five years, and helps save more lives.
Rare cancers, such as pancreatic, bone, and ovarian cancers, are some of the most aggressive and hardest to treat. With low survival rates and limited treatment options, patients often face devastating outcomes. But together, we can change that.
Known as one of the deadliest cancers, pancreatic cancer is typically diagnosed in its later stages when symptoms become noticeable. With a survival rate under 10%, patients often have few treatment options, making early detection and innovative therapies crucial to improving outcomes.
This type of cancer primarily affects children and young adults. Bone cancers, such as osteosarcoma and Ewing’s sarcoma, are aggressive and require immediate and intensive treatment. Survival depends on how early the cancer is diagnosed, but treatment options remain limited for many patients.
Often called a “silent killer,” ovarian cancer frequently goes undetected until it has reached an advanced stage. With symptoms that mimic other conditions, early detection is rare, making the survival rate much lower. Late diagnosis drastically limits the effectiveness of treatment, and more research is needed to improve early screening methods.
By fueling breakthroughs in rare cancer, the JEDI community continues to save lives worldwide. Your generous donations fund vital research and collaboration, leading to groundbreaking discoveries. With more than 400 rare cancers affecting millions, we’re driving scientific breakthroughs, innovative clinical trials, and improved treatments. These efforts directly impact survival rates and change the lives of rare cancer patients and their families, offering hope for better outcomes.
Defeating rare cancers requires a community-wide effort. Your contributions power our mission to accelerate scientific breakthroughs, raise awareness, and improve rare cancer survival rates.
